First Sewing Day for 2016 !! Friday 12 February at 9.30am

We are starting our New Year with the February Sewing Day on Friday 12 February
at 9.30am at St Luke’s Anglican Church Hall,  Princess Street,  Berry.

Need a hand with your current project, ‘Block of the Month’  or just want to enjoy the
opportunity to sew in the company of other quilters ....bring the project you are working
on and  your sewing kit.  We will provide an iron and ironing board, cutting board and tea and coffee.

In addition we will continue to work on our community quilts .....  the first goal is to finish the pink/green quilt top we started last year.

I have been looking around for a design for a quilt for a grandson  and found a really clever technique for making an “arrowhead” block (you may already know about this technique)  and a great tip for lining up those points!!!   I thought this block would make a great scrappy quilt and use some more of our donated fabrics .....

Here are a couple of my samples .....

If you would like to help with the community quilt projects and try the arrowhead block .... please
bring the following ................

- two 9 ins squares of fabric (for each block) – quilters muslin for one of the squares
- cutting mat and square ruler
- sewing machine and neutral thread
- spray starch

Hope you can join us. Cost is $5.
