Next Sewing Day is on Friday,9th September at St Luke's Anglican Church Hall, Princess St, Berry The Hall is available for us from 9:30 am til 2:30 pm. Tea and coffee are provided so bring some lunch or snacks and join the group for sewing, project help and friendship.
Bring along your sewing kit, machine and the project you are working on - or anything you may need help or advice on. Someone will have the answer you are seeking. An iron, ironing board and cutting mat will be provided.
If you are working on community quilts and need batting contact Melissa Cooke with the measurements of your quilt needs and she can cut it from the group roll and bring it to sewing day.
At our last meeting members opinions were canvassed regarding sewing days, community quilts and Block of the Month. The consensus was as follows:
Small projects and techniques to continue on a regular basis.
Block of the month every second month - the winner to decide if they will make something for themselves or donate the blocks to the community quilt program (and hopefully start putting the blocks together for a community quilt).
Community quilts to have 2 or 3 dedicated sewing days per year where members participate in a working bee.
Hope to see you on sewing day.
